Privacy
Secretli is an iPhone app for gift lists. The point of the product is that the list owner cannot see who is getting which gift. That rule is enforced on our servers, not only in the app.
What we collect
- Account. Sign in with Apple. We store the Apple user id we receive and the name or profile details you choose to save in Secretli.
- Lists and gifts. List titles, dates, cover photos, item names, notes, prices, product links, and photos you add.
- Claims. When someone claims a gift, we store that claim so others know it is taken. The list owner’s account is not allowed to read who claimed items on their own lists.
- Sharing. If you add someone who already uses Secretli to a list, we store that access so they can open the list in the app.
- Device tokens. If you allow notifications, we store a push token so we can notify you when a list is shared with you.
- Buy clicks. When someone opens a store link through Secretli, we may log an anonymous click for that item. That log does not store who clicked.
What stays on your phone
If you allow Contacts, Secretli reads names and phone numbers or emails so you can send a list in Messages from your own number. Contact lists for that flow stay on the device. We do not upload your address book to invent a people-search directory.
How we use the data
We use it to run Secretli: your lists, sharing, claims, and optional notifications. Affiliate tags may be added to store links so we can earn a commission when someone buys through Secretli. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing with others
People you share a list with can see that list’s items. They can see whether a gift is claimed, but not who claimed it, unless they are the person who claimed it. Store checkouts happen at the retailer (for example Amazon), under that retailer’s privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account in the app. When you do, we remove your account. Records that other people still need to see a gift they gave or received may be kept in a limited form so those histories are not erased for them.
Children
Secretli is not directed at children under 13.
